JOBBER VS SERVICETITAN FOR PAINTERS

Two field-service platforms read from their own pricing and painting pages: what each costs, how each handles a painter's quotes, crews and payroll, and which size of painting company each one fits.

Jobber or ServiceTitan: the short answer

For most owner-run painting companies (a solo painter up to a few crews doing repaints) Jobber is the easier fit: its prices are on its website, you can start a trial without a card, and one plan covers quotes with options, scheduling, invoices and job costing. ServiceTitan is worth a demo when you run several crews, an office that books calls, and sales staff, and you want payroll, commission tracking and deeper reporting in the same system. It does not list prices: you get a quote per technician.

Which painting company fits each

ServiceTitan says its painting software serves "companies of all sizes", and its site lists painting among many trades, next to HVAC, plumbing, electrical and roofing. The packages read like a call-center and dispatch business: call booking, payroll, commissions, memberships. Jobber's plans are sized by users, starting at one.

If you are still running jobs off paper, you can stay there a while longer: the free estimate, proposal and invoice templates carry a small company until booking and chasing payments by hand starts losing you work.

Jobber vs ServiceTitan pricing

The two vendors sell in different ways. Jobber prints a price for every plan and team size, with three billing options. ServiceTitan names three packages and asks you to request a price, which it bases on your number of technicians.

ServiceTitan's page also lists separate "Pro" products (Marketing Pro, Pricebook Pro, Scheduling Pro, Dispatch Pro and others) without prices. It does not state onboarding costs or contract length, so ask for both in writing with the quote.

A four-painter company, priced both ways

An owner plus four painters is five users. On Jobber that is the Grow plan for 5 users: $299 a month with no commitment, or $229 billed annually, about $2,750 a year. On ServiceTitan the sum is the quoted per-technician price times your technicians, plus any Pro products the demo leaned on and any onboarding fee. Divide either yearly bill by your crew's billable hours in the painting overhead calculator: that is what every hour on a wall now has to carry.

How each handles a painting job

A painting job is not a service call: it is quoted with options, takes a deposit, runs several days, often changes scope and closes on a walkthrough. Here is what each vendor's own painting and pricing pages say about those steps.

Neither painting page we read mentions measuring rooms or working out gallons, so your rates are the engine of both systems. In Jobber they go in as quote line items, and saved quote templates keep your per-room or per-square-foot prices one tap away. In ServiceTitan they live in the pricebook, which every package includes. Work the rates out once from your own production numbers with the labor cost calculator before you load either one. If you want a tool that measures and prices a painting bid for you, those are compared in painting estimating software.

Trial vs demo: how you test each

You test Jobber yourself: sign up, pick a plan later, and run your own jobs through it for 14 days. ServiceTitan starts with a demo run by its team, so you see the software on their terms. Its packages are built around an office, so the demo should prove the office side works for a painting company, not for an HVAC service call.

  1. Call to estimate: follow one painting lead from the booked call to the estimate your estimator opens on a tablet at the house.
  2. Your rate card: load per-room and per-square-foot interior rates into the pricebook and watch an estimate pull them.
  3. A crew week of payroll: one crew on a multi-day exterior, hours in, payroll and any sales commission out.
  4. Margin by job: the job-costing report for a finished repaint, labor and materials against the price.
  5. The Pro line: stop at each screen and ask whether it is in your package or a separate Pro product.
ASK SERVICETITAN IN WRITING
The per-technician price for your crew count, whether estimators and office staff count as technicians, the onboarding cost, the contract length, and which "Pro" products the demo used. A demo built on add-ons you have not priced is not the system you are buying.

Jobber vs ServiceTitan: common questions

Does ServiceTitan publish its prices?

No. In November 2026 ServiceTitan's pricing page showed three packages (Starter, Essentials and The Works) with a Request Pricing button on each and no dollar figures. It describes its pricing as per technician, so the quote depends on how many field staff you run.

Can I try Jobber or ServiceTitan for free?

Jobber's pricing page offered a 14-day free trial with no credit card required, with full access to Grow features. ServiceTitan's pricing page offered a demo and a pricing request rather than a self-serve trial.

Is ServiceTitan too much for a small painting company?

ServiceTitan says its painting software is for companies of all sizes. For a solo painter or a small crew, the bigger question is cost: Jobber's entry plan is listed at $49 a month, while ServiceTitan quotes per technician. Get the ServiceTitan quote in writing and compare it with the Jobber plan that covers your crew.

Which one works with QuickBooks?

Both do. Jobber lists QuickBooks Online sync from its Connect plan up. ServiceTitan's help center lists integrations with QuickBooks Desktop, QuickBooks Online, Sage Intacct and Xero.

Can a painter offer good-better-best options in either quote?

Yes. Jobber's Grow plan adds optional line items, so a customer can tick trim, ceilings or an accent wall and watch the total change. ServiceTitan's painting page describes estimates with good-better-best options and customer financing.
